How is it that living in the present is so hard?...
Consideration of the nature of now, that boundary between past and future, ties into many of the lines of thinking that appear in my observations on changing the future and life on earth. Initially I followed a chronological arrangement of observation topics so this collection of web pages on the nature of now led the off the list. A colleague suggested that "The Nature of Now" was more difficult for the non-mathematician to follow than were the other collection of pages and agreeing, I dropped this collection to last place, in sort of a supporting role. Doing that perhaps avoids discouraging new readers from prematurely giving up on the whole business. The pages on changing the future and life on earth depend only marginally on the material in "The Nature of Now". The key issue is that "now" has no duration whatever.
